I've seen one of these at the SE corner of Sec 25-T44S-R33E in Hendry Co in State Subdivided Lands (not GLO). State surveyors originally set iron pipes with standard caps, not LW posts - so this really had me bugged until seeing this explanation. The post was very old, but it could not have been the original corner. Thanks Dr. Gibson and Steve!
